On behalf of our client, we are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Finance Analyst - EMEA to join their team in Basel. This role acts as a finance business partner to the Sales and Business Unit teams, ensuring financial compliance, supporting commercial activities, and driving day-to-day finance operations within the EMEA region. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in planning, analysis, and performance optimization to help achieve business objectives.

Contract Type: Temporary (ASAP start until 19/07/2025)
Workload: 100%

Your Responsibilities:
• Partner with Sales and Business Unit teams to ensure financial compliance and support commercial initiatives.
• Organize and drive regional planning and analysis processes, including long-term planning (BSR), annual budgets, outlooks, and forecasts.
• Manage monthly closing and reporting, including pricing/sales performance (Price, Volume & Mix, FX), sales and margin reviews, and sales adjustments (e.g., rebates).
• Coordinate regional cost control for Sales and Business Development functions.
• Monitor and track rebate accruals in collaboration with the Sales team.
• Lead the monthly risks and opportunities process alongside Sales teams.
• Analyze business performance, highlight key risks and opportunities, and collaborate with the commercial function to develop mitigation and growth strategies.
• Support all commercial financial planning and analysis activities for the region in collaboration with RBU Finance.
• Act as a key stakeholder in the S&OP process, validating volumes and prices with Sales and monitoring inventory levels and customer payment behavior.
• Provide recommendations on customer pricing and credit limits, participate in regional pricing strategy, and manage approvals with global stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, the Lonza Finance Accounting Manual (FAM), and other required accounting principles.
• Collaborate with Group Finance Management to implement state-of-the-art financial systems and processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the RBU Finance head.

Your Background:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Excel (Advanced) and financial systems, particularly SAP BW.
• Working experience in a fast-paced, international environment is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on business performance improvement.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
