On behalf of our client, an international biotechnology company, Swisslinx is looking for a Finance Specialist for a site based in Soloturn. If this is you, you will fill a highly important role in the finance department, support an operational biological manufacturing plant, and support all budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities.
Contract type: Contract
Start Date: Mid-July
Location: Soloturn
Workload: 100%
Duration: 4 months (maternity leave cover)
On-site presence: hybrid work, 2-3 days on site a week
Your mission:
• Report directly to the Director of Finance.
• Support budgeting / forecasting activities. Monitor and report monthly business performance against budgets/forecasts. Identify and understand drivers of variances and risk factors to meeting targets and be able to communicate variances effectively.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Responsible for month-end accounting and classifications of costs. Responsible for ensuring accurate cost of goods manufacturing / period COGS entries.
• Support the capital spending process, including month-end accruals, capital forecasts, and interface with the capital planning system. Partner closely with the site Engineering department on the execution and monitoring of the capital forecasts.
• Ensure effective financial vendor management. Work closely with key supplies monitoring spending and ensuring all the compliance requirements are met.
• Ensure accurate accounting and adequate controls.
• Liaise with all levels of the Solothurn operational team.
Your background:
• 4-6 years’ experience in a finance/accounting role, ideally in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.
• Fluent English language.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or equivalent) required.
• Ability to act independently, be self-directed, have the ability to demonstrate initiative on a daily basis, and have the latitude to prioritize and decide independently on most problems.
• Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
