On behalf of our client, a leading international biotechnology company based in Visp, Swisslinx is looking for a Senior Bioprocess Engineer. If this is you, you will be responsible for manufacturing execution with regard to safety, quality standards, and on-time-in-full delivery for your assigned projects. This is a leadership role without direct reports: you will be a system owner, and be called on to make high-level decisions.
Contract type - Contract
Start Date – October / November
Location - Visp, Canton Wallis
Workload - 100%
Duration - 9 months (extension or internalisation highly possible)
Your mission:
• Be a leader in the team, pulling people together and making high-level decisions.
• Take ownership of assigned systems.
• Represent Manufacturing in CAPEX projects, providing input for the setup, commissioning, and qualification of manufacturing suites and equipment, including automation.
• Prepare, support, and/or execute risk assessments in SHE, EM, Operations, and Cleaning for assigned products.
• Create training documents and provide training to production staff.
• Oversee production campaigns, ensuring safety, quality, and delivery standards, including evaluating test results, troubleshooting equipment issues, and recommending solutions.
• Ensure timely and high-quality preparation, creation, modification, optimization, control, and review of production documentation (e.g., Recipes, EBRs, SOPs) per local procedures.
• Represent the department during customers and visits.
• Prepare and review quality records, including change requests, deviations, investigations, and CAPAs.
• Collaborate with the MSAT group to improve process robustness and routine manufacturing practices.
• Provide operational expertise to meet business needs and offer cross-functional support.
• Work with other departments to resolve work orders, preventative maintenance, QC, and documentation issues before production begins.
• Lead efforts to continuously improve manufacturing operations both technically and operationally.
• Act as the SME for the area, liaising with vendors and suppliers as needed.
• Support and facilitate tier accountability meetings as required.
• Be available for on-call service outside regular working hours, supporting troubleshooting and Pikett.
Your background:
• 7+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Technical field.
• English mandatory / German a real plus
