On behalf of our client, Swisslinx is looking for a Vice President Accounting & Reporting with excellent leadership skills and experience in transformation and change management.
Section 1 – JOB DESCRIPTION
The Vice President of Accounting & Reporting is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the global Accounting & Reporting function across multiple regions and Centers of Excellence (COEs). This role ensures compliance with financial reporting standards, maintains the quality of financial data, and leads the Credit Controlling sub-department.
The VP plays a key role in shaping the group’s accounting strategy and driving continuous improvement in processes, including the implementation and optimization of information systems.
The VP, Accounting & Reporting, is tasked with ensuring the efficiency, consistency, and quality of financial reporting across the organization by developing, implementing, and maintaining global accounting standards, principles, and guidelines.
This position requires close collaboration with other Global Finance sub-departments and supports the management of external relationships. Additionally, the VP provides strategic advice to the Global Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the executive management team, offering guidance on critical accounting and reporting matters.
This role also involves leading and developing a global team of Senior Directors (8) and their respective teams across multiple regions (around 300 indirect reports).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in line with IFRS, Group Accounting guidelines, and local GAAP and tax regulations across all jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with legal, tax, and other expert functions to address compliance issues and mitigate risks.
- Monitor investment valuations, capital situations, funding needs, and legal requirements.
- Manage transformation initiatives and other relevant developments affecting the region's accounting and reporting processes.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to Regional Heads of Accounting & Reporting.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Lead the Accounting & Reporting teams, including Global Business Services (GBS), through finance transformation while maintaining a focus on daily operations and coordinated responsibilities across regions.
- Operate a cost-effective finance function with standardized, efficient end-to-end processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internally (e.g., GBS, Treasury, FBS) and externally (e.g., auditors, tax authorities).
- Support the Group’s operational excellence and ad-hoc projects.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by optimizing, standardizing, and automating accounting processes in close collaboration with GBS.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Advanced education (e.g., MBA) is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Extensive experience in accounting and financial reporting with a proven track record in team management.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations and IFRS.
- Expertise in accounting processes, ideally within an SAP environment.
- Experience in collaborating with shared services or global business services setups is highly recommended.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel may be required on an ad-hoc basis to global sites, with potential travel up to 50%.
Section 2 – CANDIDATE PROFILE
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in multinational companies, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role as a Senior Director or Head of Accounting & Reporting.
- Extensive knowledge of global accounting practices, including in-depth familiarity with IFRS and experience in ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Proven experience in leading and managing accounting teams, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and guide professionals toward achieving common goals.
- Strong track record of contributing to the development and execution of strategic initiatives that align with organizational objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in a matrix environment.
- Proficient in SAP ERP accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Accounting certification.
