Job description:
The Banking Department is initiating a multi-year project to modernize its data platform and improve data governance. An experienced Business and Data Analyst is needed to collaborate with various business areas (e.g., Risk, Finance, Front/Middle/Back Office) to support this transition. Applications are open to mid-level to early senior candidates.
Requirements:
- Collaborate with business areas to understand their data needs and requirements.
- Define requirements for data products, including table schemas, in collaboration with business stakeholders.
- Design data models that meet business requirements and support efficient data retrieval and analysis.
- Assist in the creation of data workloads such as reports, queries, spreadsheets, and dashboards in the new data lakehouse platform.
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Write and optimise SQL queries to support the creation and validation of the data workloads.
- Document processes, data models, and any changes to business workflows.
Competences:
- Proven experience in data projects, preferably within financial services, commercial banking or a similar industry. (****)
- Deep understanding of business areas such as Middle Office, Risk, or Finance, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write and optimise complex queries. (***)
- Strong experience in data modelling, including the design of table schemas and data structures. (***)
- Familiarity with data platforms and modern data architecture principles. (***)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
