Responsibilities includes:
- Assist in the technical implementation of data governance processes and practices across the Bank.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the Bank’s central data catalogue, ensuring data lineage, definitions, and other relevant information are accurately captured and accessible.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of a data classification framework, categorising data based on sensitivity, criticality and usage.
- Help develop and monitor data quality standards to ensure data accuracy, completeness and consistency.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining metadata standards and guidelines to enable effective data governance and decision-making.
- Act as a data steward for the Department, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and proper management of securities data. Collaborate with department units to ensure data is correctly classified, stored and protected.
- Monitor and report on the quality and usage of the Department’s data, identifying and addressing any issues or discrepancies.
- Provide guidance and support to the Department teams on best practices for data stewardship and governance.
- Support the implementation of technical policies and processes to enhance data protection measures, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
- Participate in data committees and contribute insights to support effective data management practices.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs and awareness initiatives related to data governance and data management.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in data governance, information protection, and data security to continuously improve the Bank’s data management and protection strategies.
About the customer:
This is an initial contract running for 12+ months with strong likelihood to extend on a long term basis (up to max five years) based on the project road maps, with start date by April.
The Data Steward will play a key role in implementing the Bank’s data protection measures, ensuring robust safeguards for sensitive and critical data. Importantly, the successful candidate will act as a Data Steward for the department, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and proper management of data.
The Data Steward will support the technical implementation and maintenance of data governance and data management processes across the Bank.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess strong data stewardship skills and a business-focused profile, demonstrating the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders from a business area and translate their requirements to IT stakeholders. Additionally, they will have experience in developing and monitoring data quality standards to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
In order to be considered for this role, you will possess as many of the following skills as possible:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data management and data stewardship, including experience in implementing data management and data loss prevention.
- Experience with developing and monitoring data quality standards to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Strong understanding of data management principles, practices and frameworks (eg DAMA DMBoK2).
- Familiarity with data classification frameworks and metadata management.
- Proficiency using a data governance software (such as Collibra or similar) – maintaining data lineage, data inventories, data dictionaries.
- Experience translating requirements to stakeholders between IT and the business areas.
- Fluency in English
The following are nice to have but not mandatory:
- Professional certification in data management (eg CDMP, CRISC)
