About the client
As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for a proactive GoldenSource Engineer with solid experience supporting business applications in the finance industry to join the business facing Banking Team.
Joining a small and diverse team responsible for supporting and enhancing our client’s Static and Reference Data systems, the GoldenSource Engineer will represent the Banking Team to customers, other departments and management. Additionally, they will support projects to ensure that the business needs are met by the delivered solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Job description
Responsibilities will include:
Operational Support:
- Lead efforts to ensure business-critical Static and Reference Data applications exceed service expectations.
- Collaborate with business areas to develop and maintain operating procedures for supported applications.
Business Process Analysis:
- Analyse and design business processes around the GoldenSource reference and market data product.
- Translate business needs into clear technical specifications using best industry practices.
Application Enhancement:
- Drive the enhancement of business applications and processes.
- Support regular upgrades and maintenance of applications and infrastructure.
Project Participation:
- Contribute to high-impact projects, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and budgets are met.
- Collaborate with project managers and steering committees to implement corrective measures when needed.
Change Management:
- Manage changes to Banking applications, following BIS’s standard processes.
- Mitigate risks and keep stakeholders informed throughout the process.
User Acceptance Testing:
- Develop and support test plans for business applications.
- Coordinate and assist with user acceptance testing for Reference and Market Data projects.
Communication and Coordination:
- Foster effective communication across the Data Integration team, business areas, and supporting functions
Requirements
As a professional GoldenSource Engineeer who is a fast learner and has had experience in the banking world you possess as many of the following skills as possible:
- 5+ years’ experience supporting business applications in a banking environment.
- At least 2 years’ experience customizing GoldenSource applications (or similar static and reference data management solutions) which should include Programming and scripting skills experience needed (Java, SQL, Powershell, Python).
- Strong technical knowledge of Linux and Oracle
- A proven track record of contributing to large, business-critical projects with successful outcomes.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead workshops and produce clear documentation.
- Hands-on experience with source control management, automated testing, and deployment.
- Solid understanding of financial instruments and data management
- Fluency in English
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of structured messaging formats like XML and JSON.
- Experience in user acceptance testing and compliance documentation.
- Familiarity with reconciliation tools and data governance.
- Exposure to Podman, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
- A university degree or equivalent professional qualifications.

Please note interviews would be conducted via video call, however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. Our client offers:
