Job description:

On behalf of our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, we are seeking a Project Procurement Lead to manage high-value investment projects and coordinate procurement strategies at their Visp site.

Requirements:

  • Take strategic ownership of procurement for investment projects, including manufacturing, laboratory, and office facility construction (ranging from CHF 5 to 500 million).
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Developing and executing project-specific procurement strategies.
  • Managing procurement, contract execution, and closeout for:
  • Goods: Process and electrical equipment, automation systems, lab and office equipment, AHUs, black utilities (pumps, valves), and consumables.
  • Services: Construction, piping, HVAC, electrical, cleanroom fit-out, engineering, and consulting.
  • Ensuring the timely execution of the Procurement Master Plan (PMP), including reporting and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including project teams, procurement category managers, engineers, and external suppliers (e.g., EPCM or trade partners).

Competences:

  • Experience:
  • 10+ years in CAPEX project and procurement management, preferably in pharma or biotech sectors.
  • Strong experience in plant construction, procurement, sales, and contract management.
  • Education:
  • Technical training (ETH, FH, or equivalent) in process, mechanical, civil, or plant engineering, or related fields.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent business acumen, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with experience working in matrix organizations and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Fluent in English (required); German is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in project and procurement tools (e.g., SAP, Ariba).
