As one of the premier suppliers to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for an experienced Technical Product Manager. The client seeks an IT product manager with expertise in software product management, agile processes, and project management to oversee end-to-end lifecycles effectively.
This is a 12 month contract running with chance to extend, sometimes up to five years.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
- Manages software products in the Corporate Applications portfolio, ensuring alignment with business goals and IT strategy.
- Defines product vision, strategy, and roadmaps based on organizational objectives.
- Acts as the primary contact for internal customers, addressing product-related needs.
- Maintains and prioritizes product backlogs in collaboration with business and IT teams.
- Participates in IT planning to align team commitments with business priorities.
- Builds strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal teams and vendors, for seamless product lifecycle management.
- Organizes user working groups to prioritize enhancements and new features.
- Conducts feasibility studies for major architectural or operational changes.
- Maintains up-to-date product documentation, including processes, architecture, and roadmaps.
- Manages product costs and ensures on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Handles technical support or escalates to vendors as needed, tracking cases to resolution.
- Delivers progress reports to stakeholders
In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following skills and experience:
- University degree in business studies or computer science; or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of experience previously working as an IT product manager.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies and modern product lifecycle management (defining
roadmap, stakeholder management, strategic vision, backlog, etc).
- Good generic technical knowledge of software applications and their underlying infrastructure like
servers and databases (SQL)
The following is nice to have:
- Ability to deal effectively with external vendors to achieve deliverables.
- Ability to negotiate effectively within the organisation.
- Controlling and financial accounting skills is considered a plus.
- Well organised, flexible and able to perform under pressure.
Please note interviews would be conducted via video call, however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. Our client offers:
• The opportunity to work in a diverse and international environment on a long-term basis
• 50% working from home
• 20 days working remotely from abroad per year
• Modern office in central Basel (50 minutes direct train from Zurich) with subsidised canteen
